Nana Mouskouri was born in Athens in 1936. Her background
has its roots in the classical field; she studied eight years at the
Athens Conservatory of Music before branching out into the world of
popular music. Nana is now one of the world's top entertainers and one
of the reasons for her international success is that she can sing in
Greek, French, German, Spanish, Italian & English without a trace of an
accent. As a person she is warm, intelligent and gently humorous and her
ease of conversation would be an asset to many public figures. As an
artiste Nana has an exceptionally beautiful voice, tempered with an
incredible tonal flexibility that is extremely rare. She sings with
complete understanding of a lyric and the emotional "feel" displayed by
only the 'greats".But then, as this record certainly illustrates, the
Delightful Nana Mouskouri is one of the "greats". |
